With many across the UK and Ireland having to self isolate, some are using the opportunity and spare time to maintain their homes as well as starting some new DIY projects. We’d like to take this opportunity to provide you with a guide to keep your doors and windows looking as new as the day you got them.
Painted surfaces, GRP and foiled frames should be cleaned once a month using a soft camel hair brush to remove loose grit and dirt, before wiping the surface with a soft cloth, using warm water and a mild detergent
We strongly recommend avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasives as these can damage your door or windows and will invalidate your guarantee.
Window and door furniture should be wiped with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and a mild detergent once a month. Mechanical parts should be lightly oiled bi-annually.
We recommend lubricating the locking systems bi–annually by applying grease to the hooks, deadbolt, face of the latch and the sides of the rollers. The roller slots should be oiled with a general lubricant . You can lubricate the cylinder by spraying a silicone or graphite based lubricant into the cylinder twice a year. Never use grease or oil in the cylinder.
If any further advice is required, please give us a call and we will be happy to talk you through the cleaning process or alternatively, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
